Honesty

Good companies are built on honest communication.

We are honest to our peers and our stakeholders, communicating clearly and accurately the status of our company and area of responsibility.

Respect

We respect our guests.

We respect our employees.

We respect the authorities.

We respect our stakeholders and partners.

We respect the animals and the environment.

Excellence

From an email, to maintenance on our engines, to the breakfast we serve for our guests – everything we do is excellent. We never settle for “very good”. All our equipment, vessels, and crew are in excellent shape so that we can deliver a safe and impeccable travelling experience.

Ownership

Taking ownership is about being accountable for one’s actions. It is about trust and reliability.

We always do what we say we are going to do, and take responsibility for the outcome. This ensures that we work better, smarter and harder every day to achieve our goals.

Fridtjof Nansen

Polar explorer, scientist, diplomat and philanthropist.

We draw our inspiration from the legacy of Fridtjof Nansen (1861 - 1930). Nansen was a Norwegian athlete, inventor and scientist who’s love for nature led him to the most remote parts of the globe. He became the first person to cross Greenland, a daring feat where he famously burned his boats to disallow any retreat. Between 1893 to 1896, Nansen went on an ambitious expedition to map the uncharted Arctic and find the geographic North Pole. He survived an entire year alone in the ice with his fellow explorer, Hjalmar Johansen.

After his career in polar exploration, Nansen became a high-standing diplomat on the global scene. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his success in creating the Nansen Passport that helped refugees and war veterans obtain identification papers. Nansen also worked tirelessly to combat famine in Ukraine, help Greek and Turkish refugees, and shelter Armenian orphans.

In the spirit of Nansen , we work to maintain and nurture the HERO values he embodied.
